Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan emphasized the importance of regional peace and stability, urging the Afghan Taliban regime to honor international commitments and take concrete action against terrorist groups. The discussions took place during a delegation-level meeting at the Prime Minister House, led by PM Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to a peaceful Afghanistan and reviewed regional and global developments, including ongoing peace efforts in Gaza and support for Palestinian self-determination.
They highlighted the need to expand bilateral trade and investment, setting a target of USD 200 million by 2027-28, and stressed energy cooperation, particularly through the CASA-1000 project, and improving secure connectivity under the QTTA corridor.
During the talks, 15 MoUs were exchanged across sectors including energy, mining, trade, education, law, agriculture, culture, and tourism. Both sides emphasized peaceful dispute resolution in accordance with international law and UN resolutions, strengthening historic ties, cultural links, and regional cooperation.
