The Balochistan government has approved the expansion of its Enterprise Development Programme to Gwadar, Kech and Awaran, aiming to strengthen youth-led businesses in underserved areas. The decision was taken during a provincial cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti.
The programme focuses on providing interest-free loans to small enterprises and startups, encouraging income generation and self-employment among young people. It has been included in the provincial development budget with a multi-billion-rupee allocation.
Alongside this, the cabinet approved plans for a subsidised electric bike scheme and a health insurance programme for government employees. Officials say these initiatives are designed to reduce living costs, promote green transport and support inclusive economic growth.
