Pakistan and Chinese institutions signed 20 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) on education, vocational training, and digital skills cooperation during a seminar in Hangzhou.
Focus on TVET and Digital Skills Development
The agreements were signed at the China-Pakistan International TVET-Industrial Cooperation and Exchange Seminar. The event brought together government officials, educators, and industry experts from both countries.
Broader Cooperation in Education Sector
The MoUs involve Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, Tang International Education Group, and multiple Chinese universities and vocational institutions. They focus on digital education, dual-degree programs, technical training centers, and applied research.
Industry-Oriented Training and Research
The agreements aim to strengthen industry-linked skills development. In addition, they promote collaboration in research and modern technical training aligned with market needs.
Part of High-Level Visit to China
The seminar was held during the official visit of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to China from May 23 to 26. The visit also marked the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.
