President Asif Ali Zardari witnessed three new MoUs between Pakistani and Chinese organizations. These agreements target desalination, agricultural technology, and tea industry cooperation.
The ceremony took place in Changsha. It aimed to expand practical collaboration under ongoing Pakistan–China partnerships.
Karachi Desalination Project Gains Momentum
First, officials focused on improving water supply in Karachi. The Sindh Local Government Department partnered with Lucion Environmental Technology Group.
Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon signed the agreement with Chairman Yuhui. This project will develop a seawater desalination plant. As a result, the initiative will increase water availability in the city.
Agriculture Sector Moves Toward Innovation
Next, both sides advanced cooperation in agriculture. The Sindh government joined hands with Longping High-Tech Information Company.
Sharjeel Inam Memon and Chen Zhixin formalized the agreement. Through this partnership, both sides will introduce modern farming techniques. Consequently, the initiative will boost productivity and support sustainable agriculture.
Tea Industry Partnership Expands Trade
Meanwhile, stakeholders strengthened cooperation in the tea sector. MESKAY & FEMTEE Trading Company collaborated with Hunan Tea Group and Jiaolong International Technology.
Senator Saleem Mandviwalla represented Pakistan during the signing. Chinese representatives included Zhou Chongwang and Hao Jiaolong. Together, they aim to expand production, trade, and industry development. In addition, this collaboration will strengthen people-to-people connections.
Senior Officials Highlight Strategic Importance
Several senior officials attended the ceremony, including Khalil Hashmi. Their participation reflected the importance of these agreements.
Moreover, the presence of key government representatives underscored strong institutional support for bilateral cooperation.
