On behalf of the Government of Pakistan, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) hosted the two-day 10th ECO Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction at its Islamabad headquarters. Delegates from ECO member states attended to share strategies for disaster preparedness, risk reduction, and response coordination.
The conference emphasized the importance of early warning systems, capacity-building programs, and cross-border collaboration to mitigate the impact of natural and man-made disasters. Experts highlighted best practices in community resilience, emergency response, and sustainable development.
NDMA officials noted that the event strengthens Pakistan’s leadership role in regional disaster management, showcasing the country’s achievements in risk reduction, emergency preparedness, and international cooperation for safer communities.
