China’s first space documentary, Blue Planet Outside the Window (also known as SHENZHOU 13), was successfully screened in Sofia, Bulgaria, on November 30, 2025. The film highlights the daily life and work of Chinese astronauts during their six-month mission aboard China’s space station, featuring the first Chinese female spacewalk, showcasing China’s growing leadership in aerospace technology.
The screening was co-hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria and the Space Research and Technology Institute of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Large-scale models of China’s space station and the Long March-2F carrier rocket were displayed, and guests received educational materials about China’s space achievements. This event also commemorated the first anniversary of the Talking with Taikonauts program, which connected Bulgarian students with astronauts in orbit.
Attendees praised the documentary for inspiring young audiences and highlighting the significant role of women in space missions. Officials emphasized that such events aim to motivate the next generation of explorers, scientists, and innovators while strengthening scientific and technological ties between China and Bulgaria.
