Pakistan and Kuwait have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation in the petroleum sector, highlighting decades of trust, collaboration, and mutual support. Both nations emphasized the strategic importance of energy partnership for regional stability and economic growth, recognizing that their collaboration has played a key role in securing energy supplies and promoting long-term development.
Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik met Kuwait’s Ambassador Nassar Abdulrahman Jasser Almutairi to discuss ongoing projects and explore new opportunities, including investments in petroleum exploration, refining, and the continuation of oil credit facilities. Malik praised Kuwait’s long-standing support, calling the ambassador a “true friend of Pakistan,” and highlighted the strong foundation of mutual respect and trust that has sustained bilateral energy cooperation over the years.
Both sides stressed the importance of aligning future cooperation with evolving global energy trends, particularly in light of changing market dynamics and the global push toward sustainable and secure energy sources. Kuwait expressed confidence in Pakistan’s progress and reiterated its support for initiatives that strengthen bilateral ties and foster regional stability.
Earlier this year, Kuwait extended its oil credit facility to Pakistan for an additional two years, ensuring continued access to essential energy supplies. This move reflects the resilience and depth of the energy partnership, which has enabled Pakistan to maintain energy stability while exploring new investment and development opportunities in the petroleum sector.
