India’s Alleged False Flag Plans
Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has warned that India may attempt a false flag operation through maritime routes to justify aggression against Pakistan.
During a closed-door briefing with senior journalists, Lt Gen Chaudhry said the armed forces are fully alert to India’s “nefarious plans.”
“We have credible evidence of an Indian false flag attempt via sea routes,” he stated.
He made it clear that any Indian provocation, by land, sea, or air, will face a far more severe response than before. The warning comes as India conducts its ‘Trishul’ joint military exercise, involving its navy, army, and air force.
Counterterrorism Efforts and Sacrifices
Lt Gen Chaudhry shared details of Pakistan’s counterterrorism operations, revealing that forces have conducted 62,113 operations this year, eliminating 1,667 terrorists, mostly in Balochistan.
He added that 582 soldiers have embraced martyrdom during these missions.
Pakistan has also eliminated 112 foreign fighters, 60% of whom were Afghan nationals. In recent cross-border clashes, 206 Afghan Taliban fighters were reportedly killed.
Rejecting Afghan Allegations
The DG ISPR rejected Kabul’s claims that Pakistan allows U.S. drone operations from its territory, calling the allegation “false and baseless.” He clarified that Islamabad has no agreement with Washington for launching drone attacks inside Afghanistan.
Message to Kabul: Eradicate Terrorism
Lt Gen Chaudhry said Afghanistan’s conditions for peace “hold no significance” and that the only goal is the eradication of terrorism. He confirmed that Pakistan has shared evidence showing Afghan Taliban soldiers involved in terrorism within Pakistani territory.
“The Taliban were clearly told in Istanbul that they must control terrorism from their soil,” he said. “There will be no talks with terrorists; those who flee to Afghanistan must be handed over.”
Crime-Terror Nexus and Drug Trade
Highlighting the link between terrorism and narcotics, Lt Gen Chaudhry said terror groups fund their operations through opium cultivation, earning up to Rs3.2 million per acre. He added that smugglers and warlords actively support the trade and that Afghan drug smugglers are influencing politics in Afghanistan.
He reaffirmed, “Pakistan’s military is the ultimate guarantor of national security, and we will defend our sovereignty at all costs.”
Operation Azm-e-Istehkam in Balochistan
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s security forces killed four Indian-sponsored terrorists in an intelligence-based operation in Kalat, Balochistan, under Operation Azm-e-Istehkam.
Troops recovered weapons and ammunition, and sanitisation operations are underway to eliminate remaining threats.
President Asif Ali Zardari praised the security forces, stating that the nation stands united with its military in the mission to root out terrorism.
Regional Outlook
Pakistan continues to urge Afghanistan to curb cross-border terrorism while pursuing peace through diplomacy, deterrence, and coordinated regional efforts.
