No Space for War in a Nuclearised Region
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir on Saturday cautioned India that “there is no space for war in a nuclearised environment.” He urged New Delhi to resolve all core disputes according to international norms.
Speaking at the passing-out parade of the 152nd PMA Long Course, the 26th Lady Cadet Course, and the 37th Technical Graduate Course at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA), Kakul, the army chief reaffirmed that Pakistan would defend every inch of its land.
He warned that Pakistan would respond decisively and beyond proportion to even the smallest provocation. “The responsibility for any escalation, with catastrophic consequences for the region, will rest solely on India,” he asserted.
Highlighting Military Achievements and Deterrence
COAS Munir highlighted Pakistan’s recent operational successes, Operation Marka-i-Haq and Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, calling them examples of the military’s professionalism and readiness.
He said Pakistan had demonstrated multi-domain warfare capabilities, including downing advanced Rafale jets and neutralising several Indian bases such as S-400 sites. These operations, he added, reflected the armed forces’ strength, competence, and credible deterrence.
Nation’s Unity and Tribute to Martyrs
Munir praised the resilience and unity of Pakistan’s people, emphasising that they stood together regardless of ethnicity, creed, or gender. He paid rich tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for national defence.
“We owe our freedom to their courage and devotion,” he said, reaffirming that the military and the people remain unshakably bonded in defending the nation’s sovereignty.
Pakistan as a Regional Stabiliser
The army chief noted that the world today faces growing instability and conflict. Amid this, Pakistan has emerged as a “net regional stabiliser.”
He cited the country’s strengthened ties with China, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and the United States, as well as its vital peacekeeping contributions under the United Nations. Munir described the Pakistan–Saudi Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement as a key step toward regional stability and cooperation.
Guidance for New Cadets
Addressing the newly commissioned cadets, Field Marshal Munir reminded them that they were joining one of the world’s finest armies. He urged them to remain loyal, professional, and innovative.
“Uphold integrity and adaptability to meet modern challenges,” he advised. The COAS stressed that Pakistan’s defence doctrine is built on credible deterrence and perpetual readiness.
He concluded with an assurance: “With Allah’s mercy and the people’s support, we will never lose an inch of our sacred land.”
