A total of 158 students at the University of Sargodha received scholarships worth PKR 1.784 million under the Chinese Ambassador Scholarship Programme.
Programme Expands Educational Access
The Pakistan Institute of China Studies organized the award ceremony on Monday. It worked alongside the Student Financial Aid Office, the Directorate of Academics, and the Confucius Institute.
Moreover, organizers selected students based on academic merit and financial need. As a result, the programme strengthened educational access and encouraged strong academic performance.
Pakistan and China Promote Educational Cooperation
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas said the initiative reflects the shared commitment of Pakistan and China to academic excellence, educational equity, and youth empowerment.
He added that education continues to connect nations. Furthermore, it encourages innovation, strengthens mutual understanding, and supports sustainable development.

Scholarship Funding to Continue
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Tahir Mumtaz Awan, Director of the Pakistan Institute of China Studies and Host Director of the Confucius Institute, emphasized the importance of educational partnerships.
In addition, he announced that the Chinese Embassy and the Consulate General of China in Lahore had secured nearly PKR 7 million for the next scholarship cycle.
Students Welcome the Initiative
Students appreciated the financial support and said it would reduce education costs. Consequently, many expressed greater motivation to continue pursuing academic excellence.
