Before the formal talks, Xi hosted a welcome ceremony at the Great Hall of the People. Meanwhile, Min Aung Hlaing also toured aerospace facilities in Beijing and is expected to hold meetings with Chinese Premier Li Qiang and senior legislator Zhao Leji.

Over recent years, China has maintained close engagement with Myanmar despite political changes and internal conflict. Furthermore, Beijing has supported economic cooperation and played a role in facilitating dialogue in border regions.
