Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir in Beijing as both countries marked 75 years of diplomatic relations.

The meeting took place on May 25, 2026, during high-level engagements between Pakistan and China.
China-Pakistan Friendship Described as Unbreakable
According to China’s foreign ministry, Wang Yi said the friendship between China and Pakistan has remained “rock-solid and unbreakable” despite changing regional and international conditions.
He noted that the two countries maintain strong political trust, practical cooperation, and strategic coordination on global issues.
Support for CPEC and Strategic Cooperation
Wang Yi also praised the role of Pakistan’s military in promoting bilateral cooperation and strengthening the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
Meanwhile, Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the China-Pakistan partnership and expressed support for China’s global initiatives, including the Belt and Road Initiative.
He stated that the Pakistani military will continue supporting the development of a China-Pakistan community with a shared future.
Regional Peace and Diplomatic Efforts Discussed
During the meeting, Asim Munir also discussed ongoing mediation efforts related to regional tensions involving the United States and Iraq.
Furthermore, he expressed hope that China would continue playing a constructive role in promoting peace and stability.
