US Military Interventions: A Critical Analysis

US Military Interventions: A Critical Analysis

Many research studies and international publications have once again reconfirmed the constant and unlimited notorious military interventions of the United States of America in every corner of the globe since the 17th century.

Most recently, “Multipolarista”, an independent news outlet reporting on the transition to a multi-polar world, published a comprehensive report about the US military interventions. According to this report, the US launched 251 military interventions since 1991, and 469 since 1798.

Furthermore, in another international research by MIP Investigation, the US has engaged in nearly 400 military interventions between 1776 and 2019 with half of these unilateral operations occurred since 1950 and over 25 percent occurred in the post-Cold War period.

It vividly reflects the “permanent military obsession” of the US and its “hegemonic phobia” which has been one of the main sources of global instability and disharmony even in the modern times of human civilization.

It seems that military interventions have been a central feature of the US foreign policy. It has been upholding its vested socio-economic, geopolitical and geostrategic interests by following and implementing the theory of “Military-Industrial Complex”, instigating and scheming severe political chaos, violent color revolutions, economic instability and social unrest and waging wars on the pretext of having so-called “weapon of mass destruction”, undermining world peace and humanity.

Its super “universal cops” and armed forces participated in numerous “proxy wars” in MENA. It engaged in Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, invaded Panama and ousted its leader, and illegally entered Somalia to shape its power politics. It occupied Haiti through martial tactics and ignored the political wishes of its citizens. It bombed Bosnia and caused huge human and collateral damages.

It attacked Afghanistan and preyed Sudan to safeguard its own geopolitical interest. It bombed Iraq to dole out its natural energy resources and robbed its national treasures and tried to create the so-called geostrategic regional balance in the MENA against Iran. The list of its secret military interventions and intelligence operations can go on and on.

With the end of the Cold War, the world expected the US to decrease its military interventions abroad, but the reality is not as expected. The creation of the USsponsored and disseminated narrative of “Clash of Civilization” again fueled racial hatred and intolerance among the different faiths.

It seems that the US military interventions carry “kinetic diplomacy”, solely via armed forces comprising of shadowy special operation missions, deadly drone strikes in Afghanistan, Libya, Iraq, Sudan, Syria and even in Pakistan, and last but not least, disguised conventional military deployments around the globe to serve its own military purposes.

Precisely, its military interventions occurred in nearly every region of the world. Its punitive military raids, coercive attacks, and preemptive strikes have been rampant and notorious. In this regard, the Congressional Research Service (CRS) published a comprehensive report titled “Instances of Use of United States Armed Forces Abroad, 1798-2022.” during March 2022.

The report shows that, since the end of the cold war in 1991, the number of Washington’s military interventions abroad substantially increased.

The report notes that the U.S. government formally declared war against other nations 11 times, which encompassed five separate wars.

Military interventions have been part and parcel of its foreign policy. The strategic cooperation among the US politicians, CIA, Pentagon and military industry investors, businessmen and financial gurus have some kind of “holy alliance” which have been forcing them to design, scheme, support and launch military interventions on regular basis around the globe.

The US military interventions have been producing massive destruction, debris, and collateral damages to weaker nations, wreaked havoc to their fragile social fabrics and added inefficiency to their infant political systems in all occupant countries.

Unfortunately, the US policy makers and strategists have been coining different ideas to justify their military operations through dissemination of false, fake and fictional propaganda which have now become bleeding wounds to international community and system.
