Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif concluded his six-day official visit to China and departed for Pakistan on Thursday.
At Beijing Capital International Airport, Han Zirong, a member of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, along with Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi and diplomatic staff, bid farewell to the Prime Minister.
During the visit, Shehbaz attended the 25th Heads of State Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) and the SCO Plus meeting in Tianjin. He also joined commemorations marking the 80th anniversary of the World Anti-Fascist War, highlighting Pakistan’s support for global peace and solidarity.
The Prime Minister held wide-ranging bilateral meetings with President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, and other top Chinese leaders. He also met with the Presidents of Russia, Iran, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and Tajikistan, discussing matters of mutual interest, regional security, and economic cooperation.
Shehbaz also addressed the Second Pakistan-China Business-to-Business Investment Conference, where he engaged with business communities of both countries and emphasised Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing trade, investment, and CPEC 2.0 opportunities.
The visit, marked by political engagements and economic dialogue, reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong ties with China and its commitment to regional collaboration under the SCO framework.
