Security forces killed five terrorists linked to the Indian proxy group “Fitna al Hindustan” during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khuzdar district of Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed on Wednesday.
According to ISPR, the operation was launched on the night of September 14–15 following reports of militant presence. An intense exchange of fire ensued, leaving five terrorists dead. Weapons, explosives, and ammunition were recovered from the site.
The militants were said to be actively involved in multiple terrorist activities across the region. A sanitisation operation is underway to track down any remaining threats. ISPR reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security forces remain resolute in eradicating Indian-sponsored terrorism and bringing perpetrators to justice.
The Khuzdar IBO follows a series of counter-terrorism operations in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Earlier, four terrorists were neutralised in Mastung, while recent operations in Lakki Marwat and Bannu resulted in the elimination of 31 militants. These actions come amid a surge in cross-border terrorism following the Taliban takeover in Afghanistan, with groups such as the TTP and BLA accused of using Afghan sanctuaries to launch attacks in Pakistan.
Pakistan has consistently urged Afghanistan to prevent its territory from being used against its neighbour, stressing the need for stronger border security and regional cooperation to curb militancy.
