President Dr. Arif Alvi reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the high-quality development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) during a meeting with Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong of the People’s Republic of China. The President emphasized that Chinese support in the next phase of CPEC would play a crucial role in advancing Pakistan’s industrial development.

President Alvi expressed gratitude for China’s consistent support during challenging times, highlighting the enduring friendship between the two nations. He acknowledged the pivotal role of CPEC projects in contributing to Pakistan’s economic development and addressing its energy needs.

Economic cooperation between Pakistan and China was underscored as a significant factor in strengthening bilateral ties. President Alvi expressed Pakistan’s eagerness to learn from China’s experiences in various sectors, including IT, education, health, agriculture, and poverty alleviation, for comprehensive socio-economic development.

President Alvi reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast support for China on core issues, including the ‘One China’ Policy, and expressed gratitude for China’s principled stance on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong acknowledged the enduring history of friendly relations between Pakistan and China, foreseeing continued growth in their strong ties.
