Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday welcomed growing bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan, following the successful conclusion of the 5th session of the Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan Joint Intergovernmental Commission in Islamabad.
During a meeting with a high-level Kyrgyz delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov, PM Shehbaz appreciated the signing of multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and a formal protocol, calling them critical for strengthening collaboration across trade, energy, connectivity, and people-to-people exchanges.
Strategic Cooperation and Tangible Outcomes
The Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s strong resolve to implement all decisions taken during the Commission’s session and emphasised the need for timely follow-up to convert these commitments into meaningful results. He termed the outcomes as a positive step towards building a robust regional partnership.
The Kyrgyz side also acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts to foster deeper bilateral engagement and voiced confidence that the new agreements would pave the way for more practical and result-driven cooperation.
Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to expanding ties across multiple sectors and continuing engagement at all levels to achieve shared development goals.
