Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday inaugurated the Pakistan Assan Khidmat Markaz in Islamabad, a centralized facility designed to provide integrated public services to residents of the federal capital. Key departments, including NADRA, the Foreign Office, and the police, operate under one roof to streamline citizen services and improve efficiency.
The PM expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev for his cooperation, noting that the Azerbaijani model of efficient public service inspired the concept of the Markaz. He also announced plans to establish similar service centers in Muzaffarabad and Gilgit-Baltistan, aiming to expand accessibility across Pakistan.
During the inauguration, the prime minister highlighted the government’s focus on transforming Pakistan into a regional hub for information technology. He encouraged youth to pursue IT education, skills development, and entrepreneurship, adding that laptops will be provided to high-achieving students to support their academic growth.
