Solar Pakistan 2026 opened at Karachi’s Expo Centre on Friday. The three-day event, running through October 11, features more than 350 companies from 15 countries.
Energy storage solutions are drawing strong interest at the exhibition. Pakistan’s growing solar market is increasing demand for batteries across residential, commercial and industrial sectors.
Chinese Company Showcases Energy Storage Solutions
AC NEWENERGY is presenting its energy storage products at the exhibition. The company specializes in research, development and integrated energy storage solutions.
Headquartered in Shenzhen, China, it exports products to Europe, South Asia and Africa.
Leo Deng, CEO of AC NEWENERGY Pakistan, said the company had built a market presence within roughly one year of operating in Pakistan. He credited brand development, wider distribution channels and participation in industry exhibitions for this progress.
Deng added that Solar Pakistan had helped the company generate sales leads and establish new business partnerships. He also noted growing interest in solar and battery storage solutions.
Pakistan’s Solar Growth Drives Battery Demand
Pakistan imported approximately 7.2 gigawatts of Chinese solar panels during the first seven months of 2026. According to the report, this made Pakistan the second-largest destination for Chinese solar exports after the Netherlands.
The rapid expansion of solar power is also increasing demand for battery storage. Lithium-ion battery demand is projected to reach 8.75 gigawatt-hours by 2030 and between 40 and 51 GWh by 2031.
These projections highlight the potential for further growth in Pakistan’s energy storage market.
Chinese Firms Lead the Energy Storage Market
Chinese energy storage products have gained a strong position in Pakistan. Deng said finished Chinese products offer advantages in design, manufacturing, assembly and testing.
He acknowledged that locally assembled products can have cost advantages. However, he said manufacturing quality and performance remain important considerations for buyers.
Pakistan Explores Local Battery Manufacturing
Pakistan’s National Lithium-ion Battery Manufacturing Policy for 2026–31 sets out phased localization targets and fiscal incentives. The policy aims to support the development of local battery manufacturing.
Deng said AC NEWENERGY may consider local assembly in Pakistan as part of its long-term market strategy.
The growing solar and storage market could create opportunities for investment, local production and technology cooperation. The exhibition provides a platform for companies to explore partnerships and respond to Pakistan’s changing energy needs.
