Pakistan and Russia convened the first Bilateral Media Forum via video conference to promote mutual understanding and strengthen cooperation across multiple sectors. The event was jointly organized by Rossiya Segodnya (RT), Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), University of World Civilizations (Russia), and SASSI University (Pakistan).
The forum featured distinguished panels of diplomats, media experts, and scholars who highlighted opportunities in media collaboration, trade, defence, and education. Pakistan’s Ambassador to Russia, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, announced over 100 Pakistani companies would participate in an upcoming Pakistan–Russia Business Forum and stressed efforts to increase Pakistani students in Russia to 13,000.
Russian officials, including Maria Zakharova, emphasized combating fake news and promoting constructive dialogue. Participants also discussed cooperation in transport corridors, disaster management, and regional stability. Both sides agreed that sustained media collaboration and people-to-people engagement are vital to strengthening long-term bilateral relations.
