Pakistan has introduced a detailed action plan to expand beef exports to Malaysia, aiming for a trade value of $200 million. The plan was unveiled at a meeting of the Prime Minister’s Committee on Meat Exports to Malaysia, led by Special Assistant Haroon Akhtar Khan.
The plan focuses on identifying qualified Pakistani exporters and processors. Selected participants will connect directly with Malaysian buyers, signing MoUs or pilot agreements. It emphasizes “Malaysia-ready” products, including lean beef cuts, proper packaging, halal certification, shelf life, and competitive pricing.
Authorities also stress the importance of improving sea transit routes, cold chain logistics, and customs clearance. All meat exported under this initiative will carry the “Pakistan Meat” brand with standardized specifications. Marketing and promotion will include roadshows, tasting events, and strategic engagements to boost demand.
Experts highlighted the need to upgrade processing capacity for frozen and deboned beef. They also recommended incentives to strengthen Pakistan’s position in the global halal meat market. This initiative is a key step toward increasing Pakistan’s share in Asia’s fast-growing halal food sector.
