Pakistan’s National Computer Emergency Response Team (PKCERT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with global cybersecurity firm Kaspersky to boost the country’s cybersecurity framework. The partnership aims to strengthen detection, prevention, and mitigation of cyber threats across government, industry, and academia.
As part of the collaboration, PKCERT and Kaspersky will share actionable threat intelligence, conduct specialized training, and implement awareness programs to improve operational readiness. The initiative will also focus on building a skilled cybersecurity workforce aligned with national and international standards.
Officials from both organizations highlighted the importance of this partnership in safeguarding Pakistan’s digital infrastructure. Dr. Haider Abbas, Director General of PKCERT, called the MoU a major step toward addressing risks such as cyber espionage, ransomware attacks, and disruptions to critical infrastructure. Kaspersky emphasized that strong public-private cooperation is essential for secure digital transformation.
