China vows strong measures to safeguard cybersecurity following fresh allegations of cyberattacks originating from the United States. In a statement titled “Foreign Ministry: China to Safeguard Cybersecurity,” Chinese officials claimed that the U.S. government has been using allied nations, including Germany, South Korea, Singapore, and the Netherlands, as springboards for launching malicious cyber activities targeting Chinese networks.
The claims were backed by a report from the Cyber Security Association of China, which recently disclosed detailed evidence of the U.S. government’s involvement in these attacks. During a regular press briefing, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun stated that this revelation is further proof of Washington’s hostile cyber conduct and solidifies its position as “the top cyber threat” to China.
Guo highlighted that the U.S. has strategically utilised its international partnerships to disguise and facilitate these online intrusions. He emphasised that cybersecurity remains a shared global challenge, and China continues to advocate for resolving such issues through international cooperation and constructive dialogue.
China’s stance signals its readiness to implement tougher measures to defend its digital infrastructure amid escalating geopolitical tensions in cyberspace.
