Pakistan and China have agreed to strengthen cooperation in the livestock and meat export sectors to expand trade opportunities and support the growth of Pakistan’s livestock industry.

The agreement was reached during a high-level meeting between Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain and a Chinese delegation.

Focus on Halal Meat Exports

During the meeting, Rana Tanveer Hussain highlighted Pakistan’s significant livestock resources and its potential to supply high-quality halal meat to international markets.

He said Pakistan has strong opportunities to increase meat exports by improving production standards, processing capacity, and export facilities.

Moreover, both sides discussed joint measures to enhance trade and develop Pakistan’s livestock sector through modern solutions.

Modern Facilities and Technology Transfer

Pakistan and China agreed to promote the establishment of modern slaughterhouses, meat processing units, and export infrastructure.

In addition, Pakistan will work on improving advanced technologies, cold chain systems, and traceability mechanisms to ensure the supply of quality halal meat.

These measures aim to improve export standards and increase Pakistan’s competitiveness in global meat markets.

Chinese Interest in Pakistan’s Livestock Sector

The Chinese delegation appreciated Pakistan’s livestock potential and expressed interest in expanding cooperation in meat processing, technology transfer, and export infrastructure development.

Furthermore, collaboration with China could help Pakistan adopt modern livestock management practices and strengthen value-added agricultural exports.

Supporting Agricultural Growth

The livestock sector plays an important role in Pakistan’s agricultural economy by contributing to value addition, rural employment, and national production.

Through stronger Pakistan-China cooperation, the sector can benefit from improved technology, investment, and access to international markets.

Consequently, enhanced collaboration in livestock and meat exports is expected to support economic growth and strengthen agricultural ties between the two countries.
