More than 500 students from 10 Pakistani universities have been awarded the Chinese Consul General Scholarship to support education and cultivate future leaders and ambassadors of friendship. The awards were presented at the China-Pakistan Friendship Award Ceremony held at the Governor House Lahore on December 20.
The Chinese Consul General in Lahore, Zhao Shiren, congratulated the awardees for their contributions in investment, media, education, cultural exchange, and security, emphasizing that their efforts have strengthened trust and cooperation between the two nations.
The recipients come from diverse fields but share a commitment to promoting friendship between Pakistan and China. Some have worked to enhance bilateral investment, others have used media platforms to highlight positive stories, and teachers have introduced Pakistani students to Chinese language and culture. Security officials have also contributed by ensuring safety for Chinese citizens in Pakistan.
Zhao highlighted humanitarian cooperation, noting China’s support during recent floods in Pakistan, providing relief to over 3,000 affected people and assisting in community rebuilding. He also mentioned educational and cultural exchanges, including visits by Pakistani officials and students to China and public events like the Chinese Film Festival, fostering mutual understanding and awareness of China’s history and development.
