The Chinese Embassy in Islamabad has provided Rs 4 million to the University of Peshawar to support students through its annual scholarship program. This funding was handed directly to the University’s China Study Center, continuing years of consistent academic assistance. With this grant, university officials expect many students who struggle with tuition fees to receive timely financial relief. Moreover, the initiative reinforces the ongoing collaboration between Pakistan and China in education.
Part of the scholarship funds will go to merit-based awards. These awards will reward students with excellent academic records and strong research potential. The China Study Center plans to use the program to promote studies in China-Pakistan relations, including CPEC, emerging technologies, and policy research. In addition, the scholarships will inspire young researchers to pursue innovative projects and gain hands-on experience.
University representatives praised the Chinese Embassy for its continuous support, noting that the scholarships strengthen educational cooperation and foster stronger people-to-people ties. Students benefit from research opportunities, training programs, and cultural exchanges with Chinese institutions. This year, the funding is expected to assist around 100 students, providing both financial relief and motivation for academic excellence.
