Karachi’s Kareemabad underpass project, valued at Rs. 3.8 billion, is nearing completion, with around 85% of the construction work already done. The remaining work largely depends on the relocation of K-Electric utility lines from the site. Once this process is completed, authorities expect to finalize the project within the next 30 days, significantly improving traffic flow in one of the busiest areas of the city.
Karachi Commissioner Hassan Naqvi recently visited the project site to review progress and instructed concerned officials to expedite remaining construction work. He also called a meeting with K-Electric management to address delays in the relocation of utility lines, emphasizing that timely completion is crucial for both commuter convenience and local businesses that have been affected by the ongoing construction.
The commissioner highlighted that all obstacles must be removed to ensure the project is finished without further delays. He stressed that the underpass will play a vital role in easing congestion in the area and boosting overall connectivity. Authorities are confident that once the remaining work is completed, the underpass will provide significant relief to traffic congestion and enhance infrastructure development in Karachi.
