Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar will undertake a five-day official visit to the United Kingdom from Monday.
During the visit, Dar will meet UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, FCDO Minister of State for Pakistan Stephen Doughty, and other senior government officials.
Focus on Maritime Security
Dar will also meet the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization. Discussions will focus on Pakistani crew members held by Somali pirates aboard the MT Honour 25 oil tanker.
The meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss efforts to address the situation and protect Pakistani maritime workers.
Meetings with Commonwealth and Pakistani Community
Furthermore, Dar will meet Commonwealth Secretary-General Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey.
He will also engage with British parliamentarians and representatives of the British-Pakistani community. These meetings will focus on strengthening Pakistan-UK relations and expanding engagement with key stakeholders.
