Indonesia and Pakistan have agreed to enhance cooperation between their air forces, focusing on training, aerospace collaboration, and professional exchanges. The development came during high-level meetings between officials of both countries aimed at strengthening long-standing defence ties.
According to Pakistan’s military media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto expressed interest in benefiting from the training and aerospace infrastructure of the Pakistan Air Force.
Pakistan’s Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu highlighted the strong defence relationship between the two countries and emphasized collaboration in emerging aerospace sectors.
Indonesian officials acknowledged the Pakistan Air Force’s operational experience and training standards, seeking support to enhance their own operational and flying training capabilities. During the visit, the air chief was also awarded the Indonesian Air Force’s highest honour in recognition of his role in strengthening bilateral air power cooperation.
The engagement reflects expanding strategic defence collaboration between Islamabad and Jakarta, particularly in modernisation and aerospace development initiatives.
