The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry) has expanded its commercial engagement with China by strengthening ties with the Guangzhou International Cooperation Center. The move aims to boost trade and investment cooperation between Pakistan and China.
ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood visited the GICC in Guangzhou. During the visit, he met Chinese business leaders and officials to explore new areas of cooperation.
Focus on Joint Ventures and Trade Expansion
Both sides discussed opportunities for joint ventures and trade expansion. Key sectors included healthcare, construction, logistics, and trade services.
In addition, the discussions highlighted ways to improve market access for Pakistani businesses. This approach aims to support long-term commercial partnerships.
Role of GICC in Global Business Connectivity
The GICC serves as a major hub for international business networking. It connects over 27 companies and provides a one-window facilitation system.
Moreover, the platform helps small and medium enterprises access global markets. It also supports business matchmaking between international partners.
New Facilitation Counter for Pakistani Businesses
Building on an existing Memorandum of Understanding, ICCI announced a new initiative. It plans to establish a dedicated facilitation counter at GICC.
This counter will help Pakistani entrepreneurs enter Chinese markets more easily. It will also support the formation of strategic business partnerships.
Promoting Pakistani Products Globally
The delegation also reviewed international trade exhibitions linked to GICC. These exhibitions have helped promote Pakistani products, including mangoes, in global markets.
Furthermore, officials emphasized that such platforms improve export visibility for local businesses.
Strengthening Export Capacity and Integration
Experts believe stronger engagement with GICC will enhance Pakistan’s export capacity. It will also integrate local companies into China’s global trade networks.
As a result, Pakistani businesses may gain better access to international opportunities and investment channels.
