Three development projects have been inaugurated in Gwadar under the GDA Old Town Rehabilitation Project. The projects aim to improve educational and sports facilities for local residents.
MPA Gwadar Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman and Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) Director General Moeen-ur-Rehman Khan inaugurated the projects on September 17.
New Facilities at Girls High School
The projects include construction, expansion, and renovation work at Government Girls High School Gwadar.
The upgraded school now includes additional classrooms and an examination hall. It also features an auditorium, cafeteria, water tank, sheds, and a play area.
Moreover, the project added boundary walls and two main gates. Authorities also installed Tuff Tiles, an electricity transformer, and new classroom furniture.
The GDA also restored parts of the school’s old structure. These improvements aim to provide students with better educational and basic facilities.
Sports Grounds Receive Upgrades
The Captain Yaqoob Rahi Volleyball Ground and Abdullah Asim Futsal Ground also received major improvements.
The work included new sports facilities, boundary walls, and basic infrastructure. Renovation work also improved the overall condition of both grounds.
As a result, students and young people can access better spaces for recreational and sporting activities.
Tree Plantation Drive Held
Following the inauguration, the officials participated in a tree-planting drive. The activity covered the school and sports grounds.
They also visited different sections of the Government Girls High School. During the visit, they reviewed the educational and basic facilities provided through the GDA project.
Projects Support Gwadar’s Development
Speaking to media representatives, MPA Gwadar Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman described the projects as an important development for the people of Gwadar.
He particularly highlighted their importance for the education sector. Furthermore, he said the completed facilities demonstrate ongoing efforts to improve basic services in the city.
The projects also provide young residents with improved opportunities for sports and healthy activities.
Improving Facilities for Local Communities
The three projects form part of wider rehabilitation efforts in Gwadar’s Old Town. They combine improvements in education, sports, and public facilities.
Therefore, the initiative aims to improve everyday services while supporting the development of local communities.
