The Daily CPEC Studio and the Saud Faisal Malik School of Media Studies were inaugurated on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, by Sun Yan, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Lahore.
The initiative expands Daily CPEC’s work beyond journalism and digital publishing, creating a platform for media education, practical training and professional development for students and emerging media professionals.
The Daily CPEC Studio
The Daily CPEC Studio is designed to give students practical exposure to modern journalism and digital media while they pursue their academic studies at RLKU.
The studio will provide opportunities to develop skills in journalism, digital broadcasting, multimedia production, digital media and strategic communications, connecting academic learning with professional media practice.
For Daily CPEC, the studio also creates a platform to share the organisation’s experience in journalism and digital media with emerging media professionals and support their professional development.
Saud Faisal Malik School of Media Studies
The newly established Saud Faisal Malik School of Media Studies provides the academic component of the initiative at RLKU.
The school is focused on nurturing future journalists, media professionals and strategic communications practitioners. Its establishment alongside The Daily CPEC Studio creates a closer connection between academic education and practical experience.
For Saud Faisal Malik, CEO of Pakistan Observer and The Daily CPEC, the association of his name with the school represents a commitment to nurturing Pakistan’s next generation of media professionals.
Practical Skills for Contemporary Media
The Daily CPEC Studio is designed to give students practical exposure to the tools and skills shaping today’s media industry, from digital publishing and broadcasting to video, multimedia production, social media and emerging technologies.
The initiative is intended to complement academic education with hands-on experience while maintaining the core principles of professional journalism, including research, verification, accuracy and responsible reporting.
