The Gwadar Development Authority has approved its annual budget for the fiscal year 2025–26 during the 31st Governing Body meeting chaired by Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti. The meeting focused on strengthening development initiatives and ensuring improved services for the growing city.
Officials agreed to consolidate grants for the Gwadar water project and increase funding to enhance the city’s water supply system. Authorities were also directed to explore alternative resources to ensure a sustainable and reliable water supply for Gwadar’s expanding population.
The meeting also approved plans to prepare feasibility reports for new development projects, including drainage improvements, sewerage systems, street works, and road paving in several low-lying areas of the city. Officials confirmed that water supply has recently improved after rainfall restored levels at Sod Dam, while Shadi Kaur Dam and the Gwadar Port Authority plant continue supplying water to residents.
