Chairman of the Gwadar Port Authority (GPA), Noorul Haq Baloch, has extended an invitation to local investors to establish industrial units in the Gwadar Free Zone, offering land at concessional rates to encourage participation.
During a meeting with the Gwadar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), the GPA chairman assured business leaders that priority would be given to allocating government plots in the Free Zone to investors and entrepreneurs.
He emphasized that those contributing to Gwadar’s economic growth would not only benefit from subsidized land but also from additional facilities aimed at fostering business activity.
Baloch highlighted the government’s incentive package, which includes a 23-year tax holiday, customs duty exemptions, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and world-class amenities designed to attract investors to Gwadar. The meeting also touched on enhancing port operations, deep-sea terminal expansion, and better cargo handling.
GCCI representatives called on the government to further streamline investment procedures and enhance the range of incentives offered to investors.
In addition, the GPA chairman conducted inspections of various pumping stations and water storage tanks developed to improve water supply for Gwadar city.
A GPA spokesperson stated that the chairman evaluated the current water supply system, including transmission, availability, and storage capacities.
Chairman Baloch further announced that the long-delayed desalination plant would be made operational in the near future.
