Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir’s high-level visits to Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia have reinforced Pakistan’s growing role as a central player in regional peace, security, and military diplomacy. During his meetings with the top leadership of all three nations, including Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, King Abdullah II of Jordan, and senior Saudi officials, discussions centred on counterterrorism cooperation, intelligence sharing, and regional stability. The engagements reflected a shared commitment to strengthening defence coordination and collective security among Muslim countries.
According to official statements, Arab leaders expressed full confidence in the professionalism and capability of Pakistan’s Armed Forces, acknowledging their longstanding contributions to peace and stability in the region. President el-Sisi praised Pakistan’s positive role in promoting global and Islamic unity, while King Abdullah II reaffirmed his intent to enhance military collaboration with Pakistan.
In Cairo, the Army Chief was received with full military honours and laid floral wreaths at Egypt’s Memorial of the Unknown Soldier and the grave of former President Anwar Sadat. He also met Egypt’s Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Sheikh Ahmed El-Tayeb, where both sides emphasised the shared cultural and religious bonds between the two nations.
Similarly, in Amman, Field Marshal Munir held detailed discussions with King Abdullah II and Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, reaffirming Pakistan and Jordan’s enduring defence cooperation. The Jordanian military leadership lauded Pakistan’s role in promoting regional peace and security.
Throughout these visits, Field Marshal Munir’s engagements highlighted the Pakistan Army’s evolving focus on strategic defence diplomacy, anchored in professionalism, mutual trust, and partnership with the wider Muslim world.
