Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Tuesday reaffirmed that Pakistan will deliver a firm and decisive response to any violation of its territorial integrity, underscoring that while the country seeks regional peace and stability, it will never compromise on sovereignty or national security.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief made these remarks while addressing participants of the 17th National Workshop Balochistan at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
Field Marshal Munir emphasised that Balochistan remains the “pride of Pakistan,” blessed with resilient and patriotic people who represent the nation’s true wealth. He highlighted that both federal and provincial governments are pursuing development projects aimed at transforming the socio-economic landscape of the province through a people-centred approach.
The COAS stressed the importance of realising Balochistan’s vast economic potential and acknowledged the key role of civil society, particularly youth, in driving sustainable development and countering divisive political narratives.
Warning of external destabilisation efforts, Munir said Indian-sponsored proxies, Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij, were promoting anti-people and anti-development agendas to incite violence. He reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security forces are taking all necessary measures to dismantle these elements and restore lasting peace in the province.
Reiterating his earlier stance, the army chief cautioned that “there is no space for war in a nuclearised environment,” referring to heightened tensions with India and Afghanistan. He added that any aggression or violation of Pakistan’s borders, direct or indirect, would be met with a swift and decisive response.
The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer exchange between the COAS and participants, focusing on development, security, and youth empowerment in Balochistan.
