Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has directed Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, to actively follow up on the understandings reached during his recent discussions with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Shanghai.
The meeting focused on advancing the Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership and expanding bilateral cooperation in key sectors.
Follow-Up on Shanghai Understandings
During the meeting, Ishaq Dar emphasized the importance of implementing the outcomes of his recent talks with Wang Yi.
He instructed Ambassador Hashmi to maintain close engagement with Chinese counterparts and ensure timely progress on the agreed areas of cooperation.
Focus on Trade, Investment and AI
Dar highlighted the need to deepen collaboration in trade and investment while expanding cooperation in artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, and other sectors of mutual interest.
Moreover, he stressed that stronger economic and technological partnerships would further strengthen the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and China.
Advancing the Strategic Partnership
The deputy prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership, describing it as a cornerstone of the country’s foreign policy.
Furthermore, he called for sustained efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation and accelerate initiatives that support economic growth, innovation, and regional development.
