Pakistan and China held extensive discussions on the evolving regional situation, particularly following US-Israel strikes on Iran and ongoing cross-border terrorism from Afghanistan.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar received Jiang Zaidong, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Dar stressed the importance of dialogue, diplomacy, and ongoing consultations to maintain peace and stability in the region.
Later, Senator Ishaq Dar also spoke with EU High Representative and Vice President Kaja Kallas. Both sides expressed concern over recent developments in Iran and the wider Middle East.
Dar underscored the need for urgent de-escalation and highlighted Pakistan-Afghanistan tensions. He appreciated the EU’s constructive engagement and both sides agreed to maintain close contact as the regional situation evolves.
