Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Vietnamese Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung in Hanoi to hold the first ministerial meeting of the China-Vietnam “3+3” strategic dialogue on diplomacy, defense, and public security, alongside the 17th meeting of the China-Vietnam Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation. The talks aimed to enhance coordination on development, security, and regional cooperation.
Wang highlighted that the launch of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan and Vietnam’s national rise present new opportunities for both nations. He urged deeper strategic trust, stronger cooperation, and proactive responses to external uncertainties to ensure lasting progress and well-being for the people of both countries.
Trung reaffirmed Vietnam’s commitment to the one-China policy and expressed readiness to support China’s international standing, development, and contributions to global peace. Both sides agreed to strengthen high-level exchanges, inter-party communication, trade and investment cooperation, green development, cultural projects, and the China-Vietnam community with a shared future.
