A Chinese-supported Ramadan iftar initiative has been launched in Gwadar to provide meals to underprivileged residents during the holy month. The program is supported by the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, China Overseas Port Holding Company (COPHC), and Helping Hand Foundation Gwadar.
According to organisers, the iftar drive began on March 13 and will continue throughout Ramadan. The initiative is providing daily iftar meals to more than 300 people from low-income communities in the port city.
The meals include water, beverages, traditional snacks, and local dishes. A COPHC official said the company arranged the iftar receptions for Muslim residents of Gwadar as part of its corporate social responsibility efforts and community support initiatives.
