China’s Tianjin Foreign Studies University (TFSU) has inaugurated a two-week Advanced Training Programme for senior Pakistani academics and higher-education administrators under the CPEC Consortium of Universities. The programme aims to strengthen academic cooperation, AI learning, and innovation-driven education between the two nations.
The ceremony was attended by TFSU officials, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi, and HEC Director General (Global Engagement) Aayesha Ikram. Over 300 Pakistani PhD scholars have benefited from HEC scholarships in China, while thousands more participate in joint research and academic exchanges under CPEC.
Deputy Secretary-General of the China Association of Higher Education, Gao Xiaojie, highlighted that the CPEC Consortium of Universities has grown from 18 to 130 institutions, focusing on AI, engineering, medicine, agriculture, and social sciences. Ambassador Hashmi reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening higher-education collaboration and integrating universities into China-led global innovation networks.
The programme seeks to develop a new generation of Pakistani academic leaders equipped with AI expertise, international education management skills, and advanced research practices, further strengthening the academic dimension of CPEC.
