Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, will preside over the 10th Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Anning, Yunnan, from August 14 to 15, the Foreign Ministry confirmed on Wednesday.
The gathering will bring together foreign ministers from all six LMC member countries, China, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam, to discuss regional cooperation, economic ties, and sustainable development initiatives along the Lancang-Mekong River basin.
On the sidelines of the main event, Wang Yi will also join his counterparts from Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand for an informal discussion aimed at strengthening diplomatic dialogue and exploring collaborative projects within the subregion.
The LMC, launched in 2016, serves as a platform to enhance connectivity, trade, and mutual development among its member nations, with China positioning Yunnan as a hub for regional engagement.
