The China-Pak Friendship School in Gwadar will hold a science and art exhibition on September 10. The event will showcase student projects and creative artwork.
The school is officially known as Government Girls High School Faqeer Colony. It currently has around 550 students from kindergarten to Class 10.
In addition, the school has 22 teaching and non-teaching staff members.
School Expands Access to Education
The China-Pakistan school in Gwadar began as a primary school in 2016. The family of local educator Naseem Baloch donated the land.
The China Foundation for Peace and Development supported the school’s establishment. It later became a middle school in 2017.
In 2024, authorities upgraded the institution to high school level. As a result, students can now continue their education through Class 10.
Free Education for Local Children
The school aims to improve education access for children from low-income families in surrounding communities.
School coordinator Naseem Baloch said the institution has already helped several students continue their education. Some graduates have enrolled in colleges and universities, including the University of Balochistan.
Moreover, the school provides education free of charge to its students.
Growing China-Pakistan Education Cooperation
The Chinese Embassy in Pakistan and China Overseas Ports Holding Company have also supported the school.
This cooperation has helped strengthen educational opportunities for children in Gwadar. It also reflects broader people-to-people ties between Pakistan and China.
Future Focus on Digital Education
The school hopes to expand cooperation with Chinese partners in modern education. Proposed areas include digital education, smart classrooms, artificial intelligence, teacher training, and virtual learning.
Furthermore, these initiatives could benefit schools in remote areas. Better access to digital tools could help students and teachers overcome geographical limitations.
Exhibition Highlights Student Talent
The upcoming science and art exhibition will provide students with a platform to display their skills. It will also highlight the school’s efforts to encourage creativity and practical learning.
Overall, the event marks another step in expanding educational opportunities in Gwadar through Pakistan-China cooperation.
