China has officially opened the Beijing Tongzhou High-Speed Railway Station, marking a major milestone in strengthening transport connectivity across the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, according to China State Railway Group.
The new station significantly shortens travel time, allowing passengers to reach Tianjin’s Baodi district in 26 minutes, Beichen in under an hour, and Hebei’s Qinhuangdao in about 90 minutes. The project fills a key gap in cross-provincial rail links and supports coordinated regional development.
Designed as an integrated transport hub, Tongzhou Station connects high-speed rail with metro lines, intercity and suburban trains, and bus services. Officials said the station will play a central role in forming a one-hour commuter belt and boosting economic activity across the region.
