Pakistan and the Asian Development Bank have signed two climate resilience initiatives worth $304.5 million to support Sindh and Punjab provinces. The agreements include the Sindh Coastal Resilience Sector Project and the Punjab Climate Resilient and Low Carbon Agriculture Mechanization Project.
The Sindh project aims to strengthen flood risk management, restore natural coastal defenses, and enhance institutional and community capacity. It will benefit millions of people in coastal districts by safeguarding livelihoods, biodiversity, and food security.
Meanwhile, the Punjab project focuses on boosting agricultural productivity through climate-smart machinery, circular farming practices, and skills development. The initiative will empower thousands of farmers, including women, while promoting low-carbon and sustainable agricultural growth.
