On International Anti-Corruption Day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized Pakistan’s firm resolve to eliminate corruption at all levels. He said the government has prioritized concrete measures to ensure accountability, with institutions like NAB working actively to address financial, administrative, and institutional corruption. The PM underlined that corruption weakens national development and erodes public trust.
Sharif highlighted the vital role of youth in preventing corruption. He explained that as methods of corruption evolve, involving young people in monitoring and reporting can create a more transparent society. The Prime Minister also commended NAB’s initiatives to educate students and citizens about the negative impacts of financial crimes, reinforcing public confidence.
The Prime Minister stressed that Pakistan engages internationally to combat corruption through UNCAC and mutual cooperation agreements. He called for unity among government institutions, community leaders, and citizens to build a fair, transparent, and prosperous Pakistan. Sharif reaffirmed that consistent and shared efforts are key to achieving a corruption-free society.
