Jiang Zaidong has reaffirmed that Pakistan and China remain committed to advancing the upgraded Phase-2 of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He said cooperation is now expanding into new sectors such as agriculture, mining, and social development.
He shared these remarks while addressing the Annual Awards Ceremony for Outstanding Pakistani and Chinese Staff of CPEC Projects 2026 held in Islamabad. The event was hosted by the Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives.
The ceremony recognized the contributions of professionals from both Pakistan and China. These individuals are working on CPEC projects across the country. Their efforts have played a key role in strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The ambassador highlighted strong growth in agricultural trade between the two countries. He also noted an increase in Pakistan’s mineral exports. According to him, both sides are working across the full value chain.
This collaboration aims to turn Pakistan’s natural resources into real economic value. It also supports long-term development and job creation. The focus on new sectors reflects the evolving nature of CPEC.
