Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering strategic alliance with China, emphasizing that the “iron-clad” partnership between the two countries would continue in the years ahead. The remarks came during a meeting with Vice Minister Sun Haiyan of China’s International Department of the Communist Party.
The talks highlighted Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to the One China Policy and the importance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), with the Prime Minister stressing the timely implementation of its next phase. He also extended a warm invitation to Chinese President Xi Jinping to visit Pakistan this year in celebration of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
Vice Minister Sun Haiyan lauded Pakistan’s political and economic stability under Sharif’s leadership, pledging continued Chinese support in enhancing bilateral cooperation. She also noted the importance of strengthening inter-party ties, reflecting China’s commitment to closer engagement with Pakistan across all spheres. Ambassador Zafar Uddin Mahmood and Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch were present.
