China’s National Cultural Heritage Administration (NCHA) announced the addition of 10 new national archaeological site parks on Saturday, increasing the nationwide total to 65 parks spread across 21 provincial-level regions.
Among the newly designated parks are the Taosi site in Shanxi Province and the Dawenkou site in Shandong Province, along with others across different regions of the country.
According to the NCHA, these parks reflect diverse elements that contributed to the formation and evolution of China’s unified and inclusive civilization.
China began designating national archaeological site parks in 2010, and these sites have since become popular destinations for tourists each year.
