The Balochistan Employees Social Security Institution (BESSI) has inaugurated its zonal office and dispensary in Gwadar to expand healthcare services for registered workers. The initiative aims to provide better social protection and medical care for the city’s labour community.
Under the supervision of BESSI Commissioner Imran Bangulzai, the new facility has appointed Dr. Sangeen Aslam, an MBBS-qualified physician, to provide primary medical care and consultations. Workers requiring specialized treatment will be referred to empanelled hospitals in Karachi, with services provided free of charge. Local labour representatives welcomed the initiative as a timely support for workers and their families.
The opening aligns with broader welfare measures in Gwadar, including a BISP mobile registration van to help low-income families with enrollment and grievances. These efforts reflect the provincial government’s commitment to improving living standards as Gwadar develops as a key economic hub.
